Capacitors won against batteries within the Florida seminar, butc.
Date: 2006-12-12 (Tue)
Coming back from 16th International Seminar on Double Layer Capacitors & Hybrid Energy Storage Devices, held at Deerfield Beach Florida, on December 4 - 6, 2006, we were partly satisfied, partly unfulfilled. Satisfaction was provided with a good many papers, three-day speeches with presentations, discoveries, and meeting our precious friends.

However, though many experienced speakers had pointed out that gcapacitors are much better and suitable than batteries for hybrid vehiclesh and there was no piece of objection, we found no capacitor hybrid in commercial vehicles over the whole world.

There is no use to shout only inside the seminar. If we are so confident that gcapacitors are much better than batteries for hybrid vehiclesh, let us try to persuade auto-manufactures by our knowledge.

EESAT2005 Will be Held at San Francisco, This Week
Date: 2005-10-17(Mon)
EESAT is an official technical meeting held by US Department of Energy, Electricity Storage Association, and Sandia National Laboratory on every 1.5-year. This year, October 17-19 are the days for meeting at The Sir Francis Drake Hotel, San Francisco.
URL is;
http://www.sandia.gov/eesat/2005/

Historically EESAT has been emphasized on the power line engineering rather than hybrid vehicles applications of electricity storage, its capacitor session this time contains four papers from well known national laboratory and research organizations.

The paper issued by ECaSS Forum member is;
gStatus Report 2005 on Capacitor Electricity Storage by ECaSS,
Micho Okamura, Katsuji Mitsui and Toshihiro Suzuki (Power Systems Co.)h
Contents will be (1) Mass production of ultracapacitors. (2)Nanogate-capacitor, its sample and characteristics (3) Parallel monitor revisited.

Power Systems joined KiloFarad International as an Executive Member
Date: 2005-10-4(Tue)
KiloFarad International, or kFI, was established in 2002 for hPromoting the international ultracapacitor industry through representation and educationh.
kFI is an affiliate of ECA (Electronic Components, Assemblies & Materials Association) and a member of ESA (Electricity Storage Association).

kFI is accessible at following URL:
http://www.kilofarad.org/

Not listed yet in the website, Michio Okamura, Power Systems Co., Ltd has joined as an Executive Member on July, 2005.

The reason of this joining is to offer our technologies and opinions for better standardization, propagation, and education of capacitor electricity storage.

Professor Brian E. Conway passed away
Date: 2005-8-29(Mon)
A world's well known electrochemist, Professor Brian E. Conway, who spanned distinguished carrier for five decades at the University of Ottawa Canada, died on July 9th, 2005 at the age of 78.

Professor Conway used to support Florida Capacitor Seminar for those 14 years, as a chairman and speaker giving free tutorials at the opening day of the Seminar. He also played a role of an individual researcher by speeches, sharp or supporting questions and answers.

On the next morning of my speech about the Nanogate-capacitor on December 9th 2003, I met Professor Conway at the cafeteria, in front of the fruits shelf. He left the tray on the lack and said, hCongratulations Dr. Okamura for your great successh.

The world, including all the ECaSS Forum members will miss him greatly with deep sadness.

Visitors and Traffics to New gECaSS Forumh Website
Date: 2005-6-20(Mon)
ECaSS Forum officially started on June 6, and its site was remodeled on June 13. Related to them, the visitors and traffics to the website are reported as follows:

Compared with 300/day to former Okamura Lab. site, the number of visitors to the Forum site once had decreased to 200/day average. Nevertheless, above table signifies its recovery after 6/06 and 6/13, though all these data are collected from Japanese pages.

For Japanese pages, 10,000 visitors per month is an outstanding result for such a non-amusement site, although for English pages, it stays around 50 to 20 % visitors that of Japanese pages. The number of visitors floats, apparently depending upon the frequency of updates and posts in the Bulletin Board.

Visit and post your comments or requests for more knowledgeable capacitor - rather than battery - storage world.

gECaSS Forumh Debut on this New Website
Date: 2005-6-13(Mon)
When Okamura Laboratory absorbed Power Systems Co., and was divided into two units on November 2004, one was gECaSS Forum Preparatory Committeeh, which should succeed and expand previous Lab's non-profit activities. gECaSS Forumh now started officially with the members of thirteen companies and one local government. ( Press release )

Hereafter, this site will play a role of the official website of gECaSS Forumh by sending and receiving information and messages via site pages, our Bulletin Board, and mails.

Your member keyword is automatically transferred to new website. However, if you do NOT want to be transferred your membership, or you want to resign, tell us by mail. By doing so, you can delete all info related to you in our files.

We have just started sailing to spread out technologies, production, and standardization of electricity storage in capacitor, beginning from Japan , then hopefully to all over the world.

Thirteen Companies and a Local Government Started gECaSS Forumh
Date: 2005-6-6(Mon)
Continued activities for a preparatory committee since November 2004, the organization has been settled finally and started as gECaSS Forumh. For more details, refer to today's press release attached.

This website, also will be remodeled from the preparatory committee to gECaSS Forumh within a week, hopefully for much more convenient to use. The numbers of clicks, for example, to enter Bulletin Board will greatly be reduced. For previous member's of this site, the memberships are continued, and the same keywords are effective as they were.

 Capacitor Debut on Yomiuri-Newspaper
Date: 2005-5-30(Mon)
The most popular newspaper in Japan, the Yomiuri-shinbun, shared it's large part of a Saturday evening page, May 28, 2005 for "Electricity Storage using Capacitors". The article is titled "New Battery - Could it save the earth?" and explains from the principle of electric double layer to automotive applications including home or distributed storage.
@@
This article must provide good effects to popularize capacitor storage. However, those specialist's desires are endless, such as "the definition of energy density wasn't clear" "Why don't you write every-day articles" ....
